Insomnia… one of the many things you never think about …. until you have it.

From the internet:

Insomnia can be short-term (acute insomnia) or can last a long time (chronic insomnia). Acute insomnia can last from one night to a few weeks. Insomnia is called chronic when a person has insomnia at least three nights a week for a month or longer.

This seems slightly deceptive! So, I can tell people I suffer from “acute insomnia” if I can’t sleep – one night only? Seems like a great way to get out of gym class.

Also from WebMD:

If you find yourself lying awake worrying about things, try making a to-do list before you go to bed. This may help you to not focus on those worries overnight.

That’s nice. Thank you, WebMD. I might also add chenille socks, chicory drink, and Pandora’s Ambient station (or similar) to the list of things to try.
